Examination locations
Digital examinations in on-site settings make it possible to conduct examinations under controlled, standardised conditions and to take advantage of the benefits of digital systems. The Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin offers various programmes for this purpose:
E-examination centre in the Erwin-Schrödinger-Zentrum

The HU's e-examination centre is located in the Erwin-Schrödinger-Zentrum (ESZ) on the Adlershof campus. There are 126 places available per examination session.
After initial pilots in the winter semester 2021/22, it went into regular operation in the summer semester 2022. Outside of examination times, the computers can be used as public computer workstations.
Workstations and equipment

The e-examination centre consists of three interconnected PC pools. The large, central room accommodates 80 workstations, the two neighbouring training rooms 23 workstations each. This means that a total of 126 computers are available for each examination round.
The computers are all-in-one computers with a 25'' screen (63.5 cm), which has the following connections, among others: USB-C, USB-A, headphones, SD card and HDMI. A keyboard and a mouse (right-handed) are connected. Other external devices can be connected via the available ports if required. The screens are covered with privacy film and the training rooms are also equipped with privacy screens.
Access and arrival

The e-examination centre is located on the ground floor of the Erwin-Schrödinger-Zentrum. Exams can be accessed from the foyer via a glass door to the left of the library entrance. This means that you do not have to enter the controlled area of the library. There is a separate cloakroom in the e-examination centre.

Erwin-Schrödinger-Zentrum
Rudower Chaussee 26

Campus Mitte
There are currently no centralised digital examination facilities on the Campus Mitte and the Campus Nord. The PC pools at the Grimm-Zentrum are also not available for regular examinations.
CMS is endeavouring to offer centrally located exam stations in the future.
Local PC pools
In addition to the e-examination centre at the Erwin-Schrödinger-Zentrum, digital on-site examinations can also be conducted in decentrally managed PC pools. Some institutions are already using this.
The CMS will provide the examination module for these examinations as usual and e-examination support will be available by telephone during the examination. To make an appointment, please contact the responsible IT or pool managers directly. We will be happy to advise you on the requirements for PC pools for use in examinations (E-Mail).
Cooperations in the Berlin University Alliance (BUA)
Humboldt-Universität works closely with Freie Universität, Technische Universität and Charité as part of the E-Assessment Alliance (EA2). As part of this cooperation, it is possible to conduct examinations in the HU's own examination system at the partners' locations. This means that cohorts can be examined digitally for which there is insufficient capacity at the HU. If you are interested, please contact the e-examinations support.
