Examination locations
Digital examinations in on-site settings make it possible to conduct examinations under controlled, standardised conditions and to take advantage of the benefits of digital systems. The Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin offers various programmes for this purpose:
E-examination centre in the Erwin-Schrödinger-Zentrum
The E-Examination Center is located on the ground floor of the main building Erwin-Schrödinger-Zentrum (Campus Adlershof). The E-Examination Center consists of three interconnected computer labs. A total of 126 computers are available per exam session. Outside of exam periods, the computers are available for use as public computer workstations.
Main exam room: The main central room offers a total of 80 computer areas. Upon entering the exam center and while proceeding straight ahead to the back of the room, the wardrobe is located. The side of the room facing the entrance area is window glazed, allowing natural daylight to reach through the windows of the hallway.
Seminar rooms: Adjacent to the central exam room are two training rooms, each equipped with 23 computer areas. A distinctive feature of the room are the freestanding table dividers. In addition, the rooms have ceiling windows that allow natural light to enter.
All three rooms are each equipped with a freestanding ventilation system.
Technical equipment
Computers: The computers are all-in-one computers with a 25-inch (63.5 cm) screen, featuring the following ports: USB-C, USB-A, headphone SD card and HDMI. Additional external devices can be connected via the available ports as needed. The screens are covered with privacy filters to ensure compliance with the examination quality standards and guidelines. Moreover, the computers are equipped with standard wired keyboards in the QWERTZ layout and ergonomic mice. Currently, the mouse is set up for right-handed users.
Projection technology: The exam rooms are equipped with modern projector technology. For this purpose, there are four wall-mounted presentation screens in the central room and one display in each of the seminar rooms. On the day of the exam, for example, the displays show slides containing instructions and rules regarding the exam conduct, thereby helping students navigate the process. Furthermore, the presentation of additional various multimedia content, such as videos, diagrams, graphics, and other exam-related materials is possible.
Microphone system: Both a wireless microphone and a microphone table stand are available. Announcements and important notices can thus be made easily and reach all three exam rooms simultaneously.
Access and arrival
The e-examination centre is located on the ground floor of the Erwin-Schrödinger-Zentrum. Exams can be accessed from the foyer via a glass door to the left of the library entrance. This means that you do not have to enter the controlled area of the library. There is a separate cloakroom in the e-examination centre.

Public transport: S8, S9, S45, S46, S85 to Adlershof, then approx. 10 minutes on foot along Rudower Chaussee or tram M17 or 63 or bus 162, 163 or 164 to Magnusstraße

Bicycles: There are bicycle racks outside the Erwin-Schrödinger-Zentrum.

Car: Parking is available in the surrounding streets. There are several disabled parking spaces directly next to the building in Brook-Taylor-Straße.

Campus Mitte
There are currently no centralised digital examination facilities on the Campus Mitte and the Campus Nord. The PC pools at the Grimm-Zentrum are also not available for regular examinations.
CMS is endeavouring to offer centrally located exam stations in the future.
Local PC pools
In addition to the e-examination centre at the Erwin-Schrödinger-Zentrum, digital on-site examinations can also be conducted in decentrally managed PC pools. Some institutions are already using this.
The CMS will provide the examination module for these examinations as usual and e-examination support will be available by telephone during the examination. To make an appointment, please contact the responsible IT or pool managers directly. We will be happy to advise you on the requirements for PC pools for use in examinations (E-Mail).
Cooperations in the Berlin University Alliance (BUA)
Humboldt-Universität works closely with Freie Universität, Technische Universität and Charité as part of the E-Assessment Alliance (EA2). As part of this cooperation, it is possible to conduct examinations in the HU's own examination system at the partners' locations. This means that cohorts can be examined digitally for which there is insufficient capacity at the HU. If you are interested, please contact the e-examinations support.
